Kids love to fill in the letters to hear the sound of the object and progress to next level, but have my doubts as to how much they retain from the interaction.
Highly recommended! It is the only game our little guy plays (22 months). He repeats the letters as the game says them and learned it incredibly fast.
My boys started reading and spelling at an early age cuz of this app.
Great way to teach my daughter especially with my busy schedule...she is learning fast and is reading more!
French would be nice, and other options, kids need challenge
This is a favorite of my three year old with Autism. In the beginning, he had to be taught how to drag the letters but he was encouraged by having the word spelled, spoken, and the item doing something. I used the free version for that and once he had the hang of it, he would request to play. Now he can do it on his own so we have the full version. He has learned new words from using this app. Definitely worth it!
My 4yr old son loves it. He has fun learning he recognizes most of the letters now. Im glad i purchase this app.
UPDATE: the display issue on iPhone 4s / iOS 5.0.1 is still an issue but a WORKAROUND has been found. If your phone does not display correctly, try rotating the phone 180 degrees to make the screen flip. Then it will display correctly! (you can rotate back and it will be correct as well) ============================= My kids love this app, it is fun to watch them spell words and practice their letters! Unfortunately the most recent update has caused it to display incorrectly on the iPhone 4s running iOS 5.0 :( On the iPhone 5 with ios 6 it works great. As soon as the developers fix the issue I will change to 5 stars. Thanks for the great app, hope it is fixed soon.
After playing quite a bit with the light version, we ended up buying full version of this app for my son. It is the same, but with a huge number of words to choose from. This is a great app for beginning spellers! The screen shows the word spelled very lightly. your child has to drag the letters into the correct spots to finish the word. When they do, the word is spoken, and the picture of the word becomes animated. This is a quality app, and it kept my sonss attention for over a year. He still goes back to it. I would recommend it.
Really a great learning app
This is my sons favorite app and he plays it multiple times per day. He was having trouble with spelling and within 2 weeks it became a strength! All we need is more words- we have them all and he is getting bored! One thing that could make the app better is the ability to create your own words, including a picture, and put into one of the existing categories. Another is an option for all of the words to be available at the same time with some using phonics sounds, and the others that cannot use phonics would use letter names. Thanks for a great learning tool!
My 2 1/2 year old son loves to play with this. I love that it has multiple categories... When he gets bored I switch categories and hes interested again. Keeping a 2 1/2 year old boy occupied WHILE learning words and letters earns this baby 5 stars.
Son plays every day
It is definitely the best app
My 21 month old daughter loves it, keeps her well entertained... The only complaint is the short cuts of certain words for example instead of "airplane" the app has "plane" but still great apps for kids to learn and keep them entertained..
My almost 3 yr old son always goes to this game first when on the iPad or iPhone. He loves it & I love that hes learning so much!
My son played this game so much and still does.
Would recommend new words and better pictures though. Also adding short definitions would be great!
My daughter loves this app. She enjoys placing the letters and pictures, and I love shes learning to spell and building her vocabulary!
